Free Wii Downloads 

My wife and I decided to buy a Wii for our family.  We knew that our active 3 year old would love the Wii’s motion-based games.  We also liked that he would get his exercise playing the games as well.  Despite all its positive sides, though, we were shocked at the high prices of the games.  Most are over $40 per game, and that is a lot of money for our family.  In order to make the Wii fit our budget, I started searching for free Wii downloads on the Internet.  Thankfully, I found many great sites. 

What you need to have: 

1. A Wii with Internet Connectivity
2. The Wii Internet Channel (aka Opera
   Browser)

Wii Downloads

       Wii Games 

One of the best sites on the Internet for free Wii games is www.wiiplayable.com.  It offers a variety of flash-based games that will entertain children of all ages. 

To access the games, open the Wii Internet Channel and go to www.wiiplayable.com.  Once the site displays on the screen, sroll down the page until you see the Wii games.  Click “Play” and the game will download to the Wii.  This may take several seconds or minutes depending on the game’s size.  Once the game loads, follow the on-screen instructions to play the game.

Wii Videos 

After playing games for several hours, you might need a rest.  The perfect site to keep kids entertained for several hours is wiikidstv.chimpsimple.net.  This site hosts videos that are perfect for the kid in everyone.  There are channels for old classic television shows like Underdog, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Popeye.   

To access the videos, open the Wii Internet Channel and go to wiikidstv.chimpsimple.net.  Once the site displays on the television screen, select a category such as Thomas the Tank Engine.  Click on the “Play” icon to play the video.  It may take several seconds before the video starts to play.
